Intramural Program
“IM patriot PRIDE”
This program is open to all PINE students who are eligible to participate. To become a member
of “IM PATRIOT PRIDE” students must complete the following requirement:
~ Successfully earn 25 IM Patriot Points through participation.
Successful participants have demonstrated a high level of accountability in their chosen sport by showing acceptance of diversity,
outstanding sportsmanship, zero discipline related issues in any aspect of school (classroom referrals, UNV, flagrant rules violations in their chosen IM sports)
IM PROGRAM MISSION STATEMENT
Promotion of student achievement through a comprehensive intramural program that supports PINE in the following
areas:
• To promote student achievement and diversity through a comprehensive intramural program.
• Provide an opportunity to participate in sport and recreational activities without regard for high performance skill or ability.
• Support academic achievement by rewarding academic performance.
• Provide an opportunity for students to exercise during lunch.
• Provide activities in a safe and professionally supervised environment.
• Nurture a healthy spirit of competition, sportsmanship and teamwork.
• Develop a sense of community within the school.
• Enhance social interaction.
• Expose students to leisure activities that will contribute to an active lifestyle and enhance physical fitness.
• Provide an opportunity to practice and internalize the skills, attitudes, and knowledge acquired in the physical education class.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Student IM Activities are designed to reward students for academic and behavior performance. Students will compete in IM activities during lunch. An IM Student Planning Committee will meet periodically to discuss advertising and IM characteristics.
IM STUDENT PLANNING COMMITTEE:
The goal of IM’s is the creation of positive activities organized and run by students for students. The IM Student Planning Committee will meet and plan elements of IM’s including:
1. Activities
2. Rules: Program rules and activity rules and expectations.
3. Logistics: Advertising, Sign-ups, etc.
EXPECTATIONS
Students may participate in IM activities during lunch if:
1. Student is in good standing.
2. Academically : C or better in all classes?
3. Passed Proficiency Tests?
4. Students must check in with Pass teacher (IF AVAILABLE) and have their roster & school ID.
5. Students must arrive to IM's within 5 minutes of the lunch period starting.
6. Students who are late for IM's will not be allowed to participate on that day.
7. Participants should demonstrate a respect for their opponents, equipment and facilities, and rules.
8. Captains are required to attend a captains meeting prior to season for rules, procedures and scheduling information.
BENEFITS-
Participants who successfully complete program requirements are eligible to receive:
1. IM PATRIOT Champ T-Shirt for champion team.
2.Picture on the IM Wall of Fame.

How do I get involved?
1. Form a team and submit team application prior to season.
2. Join a team by activity orientation. (RUSH/OPEN GAMES)
3. Participants may be on a maximum of 2 teams and cannot be on 2 teams in the same division unless one team is co-ed
IM Discipline Policy
The following is a “3 strikes, you’re out” disciplinary action list adopted by the PATRIOT IM PROGRAM. These actions will be taken against any player for behaviors deemed inappropriate and worthy of documentation by Intramural Supervisors and/or the SRO.
~Participants may receive stricter consequences depending on the severity of the negative behavior.
~Participants who have reached Strike 3 will be required to meet with the IM Executive Committee Prior to being allowed to participate in the IM Program the following school year.
~Fighting in the Intramural program will not be tolerated and may result in dismissal from the program indefinitely.
~Participants who are found to have violated the IM Discipline Policy while on suspension or probation will be removed from IM
Program Activities and Areas for the remainder of the school year and will cause any team they participated on to forfeit ALL remaining games in season.
Strike 1 –
The behavior will be documented and the player will be required to meet with the documenting IM Supervisor before continuing participation in Intramural Sports. The player will be placed on probation and will not be allowed involvement in IM Program Activities for a minimum of 1 week.
Strike 2 –
The behavior will be documented and the player must meet with the Intramural Coordinator and the IM Executive Committee will be placed on suspension during which the player may not participate in IM Activities.
The result of this behavior is a referral to SRO. The player will be suspended from the IM Program no less than one season.
Strike 3 –
The behavior will be documented and the player may be removed from the IM Program no less than one school year, and will be referred to the SSO for a habitual disruption of school.
*The IM Coordinator will make the final decision on all matters if necessary.

Athletic shoes are required.
Student Representatives will be selected to represent sports to assist in program planning and scheduling and will .
